Miss Kelli Nicole Fertitta and Mr. Joshua James Woods were united in marriage on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at six o’clock in the evening at Sacred Heart Church in Galveston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the bride's cousins, Father Frank Fabj of St. Francis Cabrini Church of Houston, and assisted by Monsignor Salvador Culotta of Beaumont, TX.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Divisi Strings. Vocalist, Amy Brennan Larison was accompanied by Phyllis Harris, organist. Following the ceremony, the bride’s family, hosted a reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Galveston Island Convention Center at The San Luis Resort with musical performance by A-Town A-List, the bride’s favorite band. On the eve of the wedding the rehearsal dinner, held poolside at the San Luis Resort, was hosted by cousins of the bride, Susan Falgout and Fellman Seinsheimer, and followed by a Welcome Reception for all out-of-town guests. The bride's aunt, Olivia Estrada, and cousins Vicki West and Cristina Bailey hosted the bridesmaid's luncheon in the Grotto Restaurant, Galveston. A farewell brunch was hosted on Sunday by the bride's aunts Barbara Michaelis and Margo Hildebrand, together with cousins Brandie and Tammy Michaelis
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Quentin Temple Andrews of Katy, Texas and Mr. & Mrs. Victor Joseph Fertitta, III of San Antonio, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Victor Joseph Fertitta, II of Galveston and the late Mr. & Mrs. Clarence W. O’Donohoe, of Galveston. The groom is the son of Ms. Tanya Cohen of York, Pennsylvania and Mr. & Mrs. James Woods of Point Blank, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Yvonne Woods of Ponchatoula, Louisiana and the late Mr. Ernest Barnett of Jackson, Mississippi.
Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant white strapless silk faille ball gown designed by Isabelle Armstrong for Neiman Marcus. The gown was enhanced with a top stitch corset bodice accented with a Swarovski jeweled neckline. The ball gown fell into a dramatic biased draped skirt that fell into slipper length and flowed into a cathedral length train.
To complete her ensemble, Kelli wore a single tier cathedral length veil edged in a Swarovski embroidered detail to match the wedding gown. The bride carried a bouquet of white David Austin Patience Roses, Freesia, Tulips, Hyacinths, and Hydrangea accented with brilliant miniature crystals.
The bridesmaids wore a Jenny Yoo strapless pleated chiffon gown in a blush tone. They carried a garden style bouquet of white and apple green Hydrangeas, Fado and Kahala Roses, White Parrot tulips, and Dusty Miller foliage. Serving as Maids of Honor were Krista Hollandsworth of Grapevine, Texas longtime friend to the bride; Blayne Fertitta of Houston, the bride's cousin. The bridesmaids were Ann Andrews of Dallas, Texas; Lindsey Burns, Lindsey Lewis, Stacy Lord, Chrisleigh Paige Pentecost, Karlyn Puhl all of Houston; and Melanie Plummer of Galveston, Texas, the bride's cousin.
David Haack and Russell Smith of Houston, longtime friends to the groom served as Best Men. Groomsmen were John Holderman of Leander, TX; Timothy Duke of Austin,TX; Michael Fertitta and Patrick Fertitta cousins of the bride; Ross Flynt, Sean Wilson, and Paul Wyatt all of Houston.
The ushers were Chase Fertitta, the bride's brother, and Blake Fertitta cousin of the bride of Houston; Trey Rishe of Oxford; and Matthew Tawfiq of Houston.
Readings during the ceremony were given by Lyda Plummer and Matthew Tawfiq.
Kelli attended Houston Christian High School in Houston and graduated in 2004. She received a Bachelor of Science in 2009 from the University of Mississippi and is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She received a Law Degree from South Texas College of Law in 2013. Josh graduated from Katy High School in 1999. He received a Bachelor of Public Administration in 2007, and a Master of Arts in 2010, both from Texas State University. He received a Law Degree from South Texas College of Law in 2013 and is currently employed by Cokinos, Bosien and Young in Houston. Following their honeymoon to Saint Lucia, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas with their dog, Olive.
