Make this Valentine’s Day extra special and join Libbie’s Place at the Elks Lodge 126 in Galveston for our third annual Valentine’s Day Dinner. It is a great way to celebrate a special night out while supporting Libbie’s Place Senior Day Program, our community’s only licensed adult day care exclusively serving senior adults.

Your ticket includes a home cooked Italian buffet, cash bar, Silent Auction and Raffles, and music to dance the night away. Reserve a seat for you or for a group of friends and come and have a great time for a great cause.

Libbie’s Place

While the right health care provider is invaluable for seniors, it’s not the only factor in continued health and overall wellness. Libbie’s Place has been providing licensed senior adult day care for our community for more than 10 years. More than just basic adult day care, Libbie’s Place provides a place for seniors to forge friendships in a nurturing and safe environment. We serve people age 55 and older who are experiencing decreased physical functioning, memory loss, depression or social isolation.

Socialization is now being recognized as an integral part of a senior’s overall health. Many seniors that attend Libbie’s Place experience positive changes, such as becoming more alert, eating better and becoming more physically active.

The overall structure of Libbie’s Place is innovative and adaptable, allowing each individual’s needs to be met. It also allows our participants to take part in activities without any stress or fear of not being able to complete an activity, giving each person a sense of accomplishment and boosting their self-esteem. Daily transportation to our program is provided for eligible seniors that live in Galveston and on the mainland.

Support Our Seniors

Libbie’s Place is a nonprofit community outreach mission of Moody Methodist Church and a United Way of Galveston agency. Individuals and groups can support our senior participants through volunteering or making financial donations to our Saints for Seniors fund. All proceeds directly support daily operations at Libbie’s Place and help provide financial assistance to qualified applicants. Qualified veterans may also receive assistance through our VA contract.

Libbie’s Place also offers a family caregiver support group at 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at Moody Methodist Church, Room 120.

Libbie’s Place is located at 5402 Ave. U in Galveston, on the Moody Methodist Church campus. Mailing address is 2803 53rd Street, Galveston, 77551. Hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. Libbie’s Place is 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, licensed by the Texas Dept. of Aging and Disability Services.
