Who We Serve
Licensed as an adult day care program by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability since August 21, 2001, Libbie’s Place serves adults age 55 and older who are experiencing decreased physical functioning, memory loss, depression or social isolation.
But Libbie’s Place is more than just an adult day care — it’s a place where friendships are forged and fun is had all day long. In the words of a participant, Libbie’s Place is love. A program of care and services that help seniors maintain their dignity and independence, Libbie’s Place provides compassionate assistance with medications, daily personal care and therapeutic activities in a friendly social setting.
Don’t Wait until
it’s too Late!
Libbie’s Place encourages seniors to enroll in the program before it’s too late! Our services can help prevent a decline in function and improve overall health instead of waiting until the senior experiences an illness or injury.
Libbie’s Place professional staff includes: a licensed social worker, certified activity director, program nurse, care associates, office manager/volunteer coordinator, our faithful bus drivers, registered nurses and a consulting dietitian.
A monthly caregiver support group that is open to the community is also offered the first Tuesday each month at 5:30 p.m. at Moody Methodist Church in the parlor.
A Typical Day

Libbie’s Place welcomes volunteers to help out with all of the daily activities! Those who want to volunteer should sign up with Dolores Gonzales, who serves as volunteer coordinator. The volunteers bring varying talents and opportunities to the participants, such as storytelling, piano playing, pet visits and crafts.
Support Libbie’s Place
Libbie’s Place is a nonprofit community outreach mission of Moody Methodist Church and a United Way agency.
There are many ways that individuals and groups can support our program through volunteering or donations. Your gift of an engraved brick to place in our garden is a lasting way to honor or remember a loved one while proceeds support our financial assistance program.
Donations to our Saints for Seniors program support operating costs and can also be made in honor of a special person in your life. Qualified veterans may also receive financial help through our VA contract to attend Libbie’s Place.
Libbie’s Place is located at 5402 Ave. U in Galveston, on the Moody Methodist Church campus. Mailing address is 2803 53rd Street, Galveston, 77551.
