The plants are budding. The trees are blooming. Everything is getting green. And there is pollen everywhere. Just look on your car in the morning and it is covered in pollen. This is the time when people come to see Drs. Melody Fikkert and Kevin Katz at their clinic at Texas State Optical to help them with their allergy eyes.

All of a sudden people are having red, itchy, watery, swollen eyes that feel like there is something in them. The response is due to seasonal allergies from stuff in the air.

Drs. Katz and Fikkert have options for you to help alleviate the discomfort. During an exam they determine whether it is in fact seasonal allergies causing the symptoms and not some other disease process or infection. If it is allergies, there are many kinds of drops available to help you. Some are just over the counter, but frequently they prescribe medication to make people much more comfortable.

Drs. Katz and Fikkert treat and manage all kinds of eye infections, allergies, dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and cataracts. Call the clinic to make an appointment to take care of all your eye health needs.

TSO is located at 515 22nd St Galveston. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 409-763-6300. Visit them online at www.TSOGalveston.com.
