Libbie’s Place

While the right health care provider is invaluable for seniors, it’s not the only factor in continued health and overall wellness. Libbie’s Place has been providing licensed senior adult day care for our community for more than 10 years. More than just basic adult day care, Libbie’s Place provides a place for seniors to forge friendships in a nurturing and safe environment.  We serve people age 55 and older who are experiencing decreased physical functioning, memory loss, depression or social isolation.

Socialization is now being recognized as an integral part of a senior’s overall health. Many seniors that attend Libbie’s Place experience positive changes, such as becoming more alert, eating better and becoming more physically active.

The overall structure of Libbie’s Place is innovative and adaptable, allowing each individual’s needs to be met. It also allows our participants to take part in activities without any stress or fear of not being able to complete an activity, giving each person a sense of accomplishment and boosting their self-esteem.  Daily transportation to our program is provided for eligible seniors that live in Galveston and on the mainland.

Libbie’s Place is a nonprofit community outreach mission of Moody Methodist Church and a United Way of Galveston agency. All proceeds directly support daily operations at Libbie’s Place and help provide financial assistance to qualified applicants. Qualified veterans may also receive assistance through our VA contract.
